"The following is simply a version of a history, as all histories are."
A reimagining of the origin of the mermaid. What if this replaced the story we’ve been told, that mermaids — that women — are beautiful things to be looked at, and not much more. What if their tails were skin, and you no longer found them beautiful. What is their use to you then?
